More short story sales

June 9, 2008 at 8:19 pm (Uncategorized)

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks / months, jumping countries and continents, and including death, sickness, and birthday. Anyway, with all of that, I never got around to reporting the recent story sales and publication news.

- “To Act the Witch” to Tales of Moreauvia

- “Troy and the Aliens” to Abyss & Apex. It’s scheduled to come out in the fourth quarter.

- “Ghosts of Dead Ideas” to the newish mag Renard’s Menagerie - my zombie unicorn in space story.

In other news, my piece “The Parrots of Bad Cannstatt” is now up at IROSF. It’s a condensed version of the talk I gave at Italcon in Fiuggi in March.

Sold my story “If Tears Were Wishes” to Abyss and Apex. It’s a dark and light contemporary fantasy set in my old home town of Eugene, Oregon, with second generation hippies and revenge and the consequences of having tears that will grant wishes.

What’s New (Nov. 2007)

November 29, 2007 at 12:27 pm (Uncategorized)

My Big Fat Arthurian Fantasy, Yseult, sold to the German imprint of Random House, Blanvalet. It is a retelling of the Tristan and Isolde legend, title TBD. It is scheduled to appear in hardcover, Winter 2008-09, with trade and normal paperback to follow.

In other news, I organized a European workshop for sff writers in English which we have named the Villa Diodati Workshop. We had our first weekend workshop at the end of October, 2007, and it was a blast. We hope to make it at least a biannual affair.
